Proverbs and Adages EQ: How can I determine the meaning of similes, metaphors, idioms, adages, and proverbs?

Directions: Read each proverb or adage and guess its meaning.

Practice makes perfect. The more you practice, the better you will become.

Actions speak louder than words. What you do is more important than what you say.

Honesty is the best policy. It is always best to tell the truth.

A picture is worth a thousand words. To actually see or experience something is much better than to merely have it described to you.

Better to be safe than sorry. If you’re not sure, always do the safest thing.
