Teaching problems in multilevel groups 1. Some students do not understand instructions and questions and that is why are unable to follow and answer them, while the others are very quick to react. 2. For some students it is easy to work in a team. But there are some who cannot do that. 3. It is hard to make the whole group work in an equally effective way. 4. Students who cannot cope with tasks well, start to dislike English, show the absence of motivation and do badly in tests.

There are some strategies for managing multilevel classes. The most useful of them are : Strategies Adopting material and grading tasks Graded homework Pace of the lesson Variety Classroom мanage- ment

The chart where all the students are grouped in accordance with their level of English (from the highest to the lowest) is very helpful in the lessons. Students can work either in the group of the same ability (red, blue and yellow lines) or in mixed ability groups (A,B,C,D).
