His parents divorced when Enrique was just 3. The next year his father moved to Miami, Florida to continue his musical career

1985 Enrique and his brother were sent to live with his father after his grandfather was kidnapped by a terrorist group (ETA)

1997 His second album (Vivir) sold more than 5 million and launched his first world tour In 3 years he sold more than 17 million Spanish albums

1998-1999 he released his third album Cosas del Amor (Things of love) He won a American music award for favorite Latin Artist against Ricky Martin and Los Tigres del Notre

The song “Nunca te olividare” was used as the theme song for a Spanish soap opera On the last episode of the series he sang the song

1999-2000 He began a successful crossover career into the English language music market He contributed to the sound track of Will Smiths movie Wild Wild West “Bailamos” Became a number one hit

After weeks of negotiation he signed a multi-album deal with Interscope Iglesias recorded and released his first full CD in English “Enrique” It took two months to finish The CD contained a duet with Whitney Houston called “Could I have this kiss forever”

2001-2002 He released his album Escape Hero became a number one hit in the UK, and many other countries Enrique capitalized on the albums success with his world tour consisting of 50 sold-out shows in 16 countries

2002-2003 His next Spanish-language album was titled Quizas (Perhaps) The video to the song Quizas was the first Spanish language music video to be added to MTV’s Total request Live show Enrique performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Witch opened doors for other artists such as Ricky Martin

Enrique released his seventh album called 7 This album kicked off his biggest world tour to date

2004-2006 He was a guest on the opera Winfrey’s talk show Also surprised one of his fans by spending the day with her He appeared on Extreme makeover: home edition singing “Somebody's me”

2007-2008 Released INSOMNIAC It contained more Pop style than his previous albums He sang “Push” with Lil’ Wayne

2008 Enrique released a Spanish Greatest Hits album witch included his seventeen #1 songs on the Hot Latin tracks chart Plus two new songs

2009 He was anonced best international Male Artist at the NRJ Music Award in France

Acting Enrique developed an interest in acting He was in the film “once upon a time in Mexico” Along with Antonio banderas, Salma Hayek, and Johnny Depp
