Men Are Men Are Positive Role Models for Children Men show boys what they can become Girls need to see a nurturing male in order to see what kind of men they’d like to have in their lives

Why Is There a Shortage of Men?Shortage Low status and pay Perception of teaching is “women’s work” The fear of accusation of child abuse Stereotyping

Ways Ways to Get More Men Involved Encourage male volunteers and work study students to consider teaching as a career Ask men staff to recruit other men Attend high schools and colleges job fairs Involve parents in the recruitment process Advertise the need for male teachers

For the sake of the children, be open-minded, men also play an important role in the lives of children
