MyLinE or Online Resources for Learning in English is a self-access learning resource developed specifically for you with the aim to enhance your English language communication skills.

Its self access mode of learning allows you the flexibility of managing your own learning within your busy schedule. Its provision of self-access learning opportunities helps you in developing independent and lifelong learning skills in your pursuit of excellence.

Learning resources for higher education: The learning resources are designed and developed specifically to meet the academic and professional needs of students at tertiary level.

Resources for learning English and learning in English: The instructional materials and activities include not only resources for learning English, such as input and exercises on grammar and language use, but also informative resources in English on various disciplines and professions, such as information on the career path of a specific profession.

Interactive and self-explanatory activities: The pattern of information presented contains input on a topic, exercises to reinforce understanding of the input and answers with explanation to provide feedback on students’ performance.

Varied modality: Resources are presented in a variety of media including text, audio and video, to tap on the different senses to cater for the different learning styles among students.

Multi-disciplinary content and contributors: Content is multi- disciplinary in nature and input is prepared by experts from various disciplines.

The Test and Rank section houses a collection of Online English Tests. At the end of each test, the scores obtained will be ranked to reflect the level of proficiency in the language of the test takers. The ranking given can be used for self-evaluation purposes. Some language items tested in the Online English Tests include English grammar, vocabulary, phrases and sentence structures and reading comprehension.

This is the section where the National Online Quiz is housed. The National Online Quiz is open to all registered users of MyLinE and will run at least once every semester. The main focus of the quiz is to help students to improve their grasp of the English language and to increase their interest in learning the language. There are many attractive prizes to be won in every Online Quiz.

This is a ‘cyber meeting place’ for students and teachers from different fields of study to meet and exchange views in English on a wide range of topics and issues. Lounge is divided into several categories where students are free to create topics under each of the categories.

A platform for students to post any language-related queries or problems that they have and want some explanation on.

A platform for all universities to disseminate their latest information on the English Language Support Programme offered to their students.
