Understanding the Layout Copy Decks 101 Part 1: Understanding the Layout Notice: The Copy Deck Template is a MS Word 2007 document. You must use this version of Word if your team will be using MS SharePoint to review and edit copy decks.
Copy Deck Format Each copy deck contains 3 main sections: Page Location & Name, Page Content and Page Details The copy deck has been designed to easily organize your pages and content. Page Location & Name Look at your site map. Enter the location and name of your page as seen on your site map. Page Content Notice that these text sections mirror the text sections on the Web pages. Write your content into their appropriate areas. Page Details Name or description of photo. What is this page about? What are your Keywords?

Page Descriptions should be short summaries of the respective page and contain a maximum of 250 characters, including spaces.
Completing the Copy Deck Part 2: Completing the Copy Deck
Required Content Highlighted areas are mandatory. Copy decks will be returned if highlighted areas are blank.
Copy Deck Completion Process – Step 1 Enter page location & name as seen on site map.
Copy Deck Completion Process – Step 2 Enter page headline, sub-headline and page content.
Copy Deck Completion Process – Step 3 Enter page description. This should be a concise summary of the page content. 20-40 Words recommended.
Copy Deck Completion Process – Step 4 Enter at least one call-to-action. This is the next step you want the visitor to take.
Copy Deck Completion Process – Step 5 Enter Related Content. You may reference existing Reusable Content, or request your content to be reused elsewhere.
Copy Deck Completion Process – Step 6 Enter name or description of main photo (if available). Enter keywords or phrases referenced in content.
Copy Deck – Final Product How a copy deck should appear when delivered to IUC.
