Who was Hesaphaestus ? (VULCAN AND MULCIBER) The God of Fire, the son of Zeus and Hera, sometimes Hera alone. He was ugly and lame as well. His shameless mother, when she saw he was born deformed she cast him out of heaven. In Homer he was in no danger of being driven from Olympus. He was highly honored.

Hestia (VESTA) She was Zeus sister like Athena and Artemis a virgin goddess. She had no distinct personality she plays no part in in the stories. Hestia was the Goddess of the Hearth. Symbol of the home. Every city had a public hearth similar to Hestia. Colonists carried coals from the hearth of the mother city.

Cupid and Psyche Psyche’s beauty spread throughout the earth. Men everywhere traveled to look at her with amazement and admiration. She never fell in love. Shockingly no one fell in love with her. Men content to wonder and worship. She sat dreadful in solitary, only admired NEVER loved. No one wanted her. Her father traveled to an oracle of Apollo to ask advice on how to find her a husband. Cupid and Psyche were formally married.

Pyramus and Thisbe He most beautiful youth and her a lovely maiden of the East. They both lived in Babylon city of Queen Semiramis.Growing up side by side they grew to love each other. They both wanted to marry, but their parents forbade it.Every morning around dawn they’d steal to the crack. They’d decided that that very night they would try to escape and steal out through the country where they would be free together.

Orpheus and Eurydice Orpheus was the greatest by far. He was on his mother’s side, he was more than mortal. The son of the Muses and the Thracian prince. He was given the gift of music from Thrace where he grew up. Thracians were the most musical people of Greece. There was no limit to his power when he played and sung. He moved rocks of the hill side. His fated marriage. It is better known than his music. He first met and hitched the maiden he cherished Eurydice. They got married but the happiness was very brief. After the wedding she died of a viper sting.

Cexy and Alcyone Ceyx was a king Thessaly the son of Lucifer the light bearer, the star that brings in the day. His wife’s name was Alcyone also of high descent. She was the daughter of Aeolus the King of the Wind. Both loved each other devotedly and never willing to separate.

Pygmalion and Galatea Pygmalion was a gifted sculptor of Cyprus and he was a woman hater. He never wanted to marry. He said his art was enough for him.Pygmalion ended up having a baby by a maiden named Galetea nd their son was named Paphos.

Daphne Daphne was independent, love – and marriage hating huntress. She is known to be Apollo’s first love, but she fled from him. One unfortunate maiden after the other. The gods had to kill her child secretly or she would be killed. She really wasn’t an important role in mythology.
