Assessment of Area B (10 marks) Part R1: 1. Design of the investigation & its underlying principles 2. Procedure Part R2: 1. Presentation of findings 2. Discussion of results 3. Conclusion R1:R2 = 4:6 or 5:5 or 6:4
Non-practical related tasks Each assignment should cover: A. Curriculum emphasis (at least one) Scientific inquiry STSE Nature and history of Biology B. Generic skills (at least one) Creativity Critical thinking skills Communication skills Problem-solving skills
Non-practical related tasks – Examples of assignments that can be included: Information searches and report writing, survey studies, field-studies or site-visit reports, designing posters / pamphlets / webpages, writing articles on scientific issues, building models or developing multimedia artefacts
