Post Script How the EU reduces inequalities. EU member states contribute about 1% of their total wealth to the EU budget. The wealthiest countries make the biggest contributions. Over a third of the budget is then spent on regional aid for less developed countries and regions. As they become better off, the wealthier parts of the EU will benefit too.

Post Script There are three types of regional aid: 1. The European development fund to improve investment and infrastructure 2. The social fund to pay for education, training and job creation 3. Cohesion fund, to improve the environment, transport and renewable energy.
