This is a diagram of a hydroelectric power scheme. Water, which has been trapped behind a dam, flows down a slope. The moving water turns a generator, which makes electricity.  Write an energy equation for this process. Some of the electricity generated is used to provide energy for an elevator in a building, which lifts people to the top of the building. Add in extra steps in your energy equation to show these extra energy changes. Gravitational PE → Kinetic → electrical → kinetic → gravitational PE 4. Rachel and Stephen are moving with a constant speed since the slope of the line is constant. Rachel – 5 ms-1; Stephen – 3 ms-1; Kepa is accelerating. The slope is increasing so her speed is increasing.

Rachel – Constant speed of 7 ms-1 for 3 s then a constant deceleration to rest in a further 7 s. Stephen – Constant acceleration from rest to 10 ms-1 in 10 s. Kepa – Constant acceleration from rest to 10 ms-1 in 5 s followed by a constant deceleration to rest in a further 5 s.
