LESSON OBJECTIVES: To understand the advantages of reusing, repairing and recycling materials. To work as a team, problem solve, design and model an environmentally friendly new product by reusing used materials. To present your ideas to the class.

Biodegradable / Compostable materials : Did you know? Biodegradable / Compostable materials : Are made from natural plants and animal fibers, which then decompose and release nutrients and minerals.

Did you know? Plastic bags are made from plastic using oil and can take up to 500 years to decay in landfill!! Paper: 2-5 weeks. Banana peel: 3-5 weeks. Orange peels: 6 months. Cotton rags 1-5 months.
