Please use this PowerPoint instead of Daily Prayers this morning. Before you begin, ensure you have the large candle, and all children have a tea light each. All text on each slide should be read aloud to the class. The music will continue playing throughout the PowerPoint. When you reach slide 10, the large candle should be lit by yourself, or a member of your form. After this, as signified by slide 11, the children’s individual candles are to be lit. The first person will light theirs from the large candle, and then allow the person next to them to light theirs off of that, and so on. As the children are lighting their candles, move onto slide 12, and from there on pictures will display automatically on the screen. Once the children have completed lighting the candles, the final prayer should be said aloud.

We light our own candles As we light our candles, we remember all those who suffered as a result of the Holocaust. When we pass on the light of our candle, we are passing on the memories of Holocaust victims. We keep our candles alight, as we keep their memories alive.
Prayer As we mark Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember before God the thousands of victims who perished under the years of Nazi atrocities. We pray for the survivors and their relatives. We pray for the eradication of the evil and prejudice inflicted upon men, women and children because of their race, religion, abilities, or their sexual orientation. We pray for a better world. We pray for peace. Amen.
