LGSP-LED 8-year cooperation program between Canadian and Philippine governments Implemented through DILG Assisted 134 LGUs covering 17 provinces, 17 cities and 100 municipalities

What we hope to achieve National: Strengthen DILG’s capacity to enable LED Local: Help build business-friendly and competitive LGUs Local: Help LED actors implement sustainable MSMEs

NATIONAL- ENABLING ETTs functioning as convergence mechanisms for LED projects 4 LED Course Modules (LED Fundamentals, CCA4LED, Investment and Incentives Code, Tourism Planning) 1 LED Info Portal (Sparkbiz.ph) established DILG staff strengthened for 52 business-friendly and competitive LGUs

LOCAL- ENABLING Business-friendly and competitive LGUs built through the following: Local investments and incentives code (LIIC) formulated/enhanced LGU business plans prepared 207 LEIPOs trained using LED4LGUs course

LOCAL- ENABLING LGUs assisted in streamlining BPLS and in seeking financing for LED projects to grow the local tourism 20 LGUs undertaking destination marketing initiatives with private sector 11 LGUs have Tourism Statistics and Information Systems (TSIS)

LED INITIATIVES LGUs were supported to work with the private sector and NGAs on 22 priority LED initiatives. Approaches include: Tourism Circuit Development Plans identified growth strategies in tourism Workforce Development Plans aimed at improving local workforce supply-demand balance 5 Business Recovery Centers supported

LED initiatives by producing: –9 market-oriented tour packages –8 destination brands –22 investment briefs –4 investment forums (July, Aug, Sept and Oct 2015) LOCAL Actors trained in product enhancement, marketing, and tourism enterprise competitiveness, which would result in: –10 LGU Business Plans for WFD enhanced –11 LGU Business Plans for Investment Promotion developed –29 LGUs with streamlined/computerized BPLS –37 LGUs with formulated/enhanced LIIC –9 LGUs with Tourism Statistical Info System
