Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. The GEORGIA NATIONAL GUARD FAMILY SUPPORT FOUNDATION, INC., was established in 1994 as an independent non-profit 501(c) (3) charitable organization. Our sole purpose is to provide emergency relief assistance to the members and families of the Georgia National Guard, and other qualified military Active Duty or Reserve members based in Georgia. The Foundation, although not a military organization, is recognized as an official support organization of the Georgia National Guard.

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. Governor Sonny Perdue, in association with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, initiated a goal to raise ONE MILLION DOLLARS from the business community and individuals throughout the State to benefit the Foundation. We received donations from $1.00 in cash to $100,000.00! We owe special thanks to companies such as the Georgia Power Company Foundation, the Southern Company Foundation, AT&T, Choate Construction, Chick-Fil-A, and many others. The One Million Dollar goal was reached and recognized in 2006 !

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. The Foundation is an approved “check off” charity for the State of Georgia Income Tax. Taxpayers have the opportunity to make donations to the Foundation when they file their State tax returns. We received $325, from 2005 through 2007 returns. 98% of these contributions were reportedly from $1.00 donations!

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. The Foundation is an approved charity for the United Way Combined Federal Campaign. CFC # We have also been the beneficiary of grass roots campaigns throughout the State of Georgia, such as The Top Gun Ride for Children, a annual motorcycle event, golf tournaments, store sales, VFW Breakfasts, 4 th of July celebrations and more!

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. Renowned Georgia artist, Steve Penley, created an original artwork, entitled FREEDOM. The original painting was auctioned for $12, The proceeds and a limited number of signed reproductions are available through our office. See our website for more information…

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. Virtually 100% of all contributions are used for our General Fund to provide emergency relief assistance.

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. Since 2004, the Foundation has provided over $ 943, in emergency relief assistance to almost 1,000 Georgia National Guard members and their families with new applications coming in daily.

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. We have assisted with payments to avoid eviction, foreclosure, utilities disconnection and repossession of vehicles, as many applications include job loss. We have helped victims of house and apartment fires, tornados and water damage. We provided funeral expenses for the infant daughter of a Guard member. The baby was stillborn and the Family had no insurance.

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. We have provided assistance to Guard members injured during deployment and training who experienced pay problems because of medical issues and the collection of incapacitation pay. We provided temporary lodging for the visiting parents of an injured Soldier who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident.

Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, Inc. YOUR DONATION WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE! A single mom, a traditional Soldier, lost her job, her unemployment benefits had stopped, her rent was past due, her car insurance had lapsed and her license had expired. Her 4-year old son was in the hospital with a serious case of sickle cell anemia. He was released from the hospital after having his gall bladder and spleen removed and a port put in his chest. We were able to help her with immediate financial assistance. These are just a few examples of the multiple requests for assistance that we receive each week.
