PRESEASON COMMUNICATION All preseason information will be communicated to players and parents via , twitter, website, and Remind 101. You are encouraged to contact Coach Smith or Coach Jenkins by with any questions related to Junior Varsity and Varsity. Coaches may contact individual players by phone and/or text regarding specific information related to that player. Parents and Players are asked to communicate with the coach by . DATES & TIMES August 11 th (FHS Track) – Paperwork turn in and Fitness Tests JV (5:00 – 6:00) Varsity (6:30 – 7:30) Varsity Tryouts (For 11 th and 12 th graders or notified by Coach Smith) » August 12 th & 13 th » 4:00 – 6:15 » Monocacy Middle School Field » First Cuts will be on August 12 th » Final Cuts will be on August 13 th Junior Varsity Tryouts (For incoming 9 th and 10 th graders) » August 12 th & 13 th » 6:30 – 8:15 » Monocacy Middle School Field » First Cuts will be on August 12 th » Final Cuts will be on August 13 th

What you need to bring Physical Form - Dated no earlier than June 1 st (Completed and Doctor & Parent Signature) Participation Form – Link will be provided on our website and can be found on (Insurance section must be filled out) Running Shoes, Cleats, Shinguards, Water, Water Bottle, & Sport Drink (Water is provided but it is recommend to also bring your own)

RULES & REGULATIONS Eligibility - Student Athletes must have a 2.0 GPA or better and no F’s (This does not affect incoming 8 th graders) (JV players cannot become ineligible in the season only eligible) (Varsity players can become ineligible during playoffs) Heat Regulations - Only allowed 1 practice for 3 hours during first week (It does not matter what the weather is like outside) (First scrimmage can’t be until the 7 th day) Pre Season “Practice” (Cannot be run by a coach on staff except for summer league) (Coaches can only supervise players and provide a place for them to play) (Coaches can run conditioning) (Coaches can be present while other coaches (college, club..) run practices)

What to expect Paperwork collection - You must have a completed physical form and participation form turned in before you can participate Conditioning - Be prepared to complete multiple conditioning drills both on the field and on the track. Test yourself using the conditioning packet provided in your packet or you can download at Bring proper equipment - Important to bring running shoes, cleats, water, and shin guards to each session Team Numbers - We will only be keeping 20 players maximum for each team. Varsity and JV team would like to keep our rosters to 18. Cuts - Cuts will take place face to face and can happen on any of the 3 tryout days after that session has been completed. Team “Parent/Player” Meeting – Will take place after both teams have completed cuts. We will then review player expectations and program review.
