Purpose of Course The purpose of this course is educate students in the use of Microsoft Power Point in making presentations You can get to the class website by typing the address into the address bar of Internet Explorer. Then click on the schedule for your location. Then find the entry for Getting Started and click on it to get to this page.

Website You can get to the class website by typing the address into the address bar of Internet Explorer and then pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. The current day's classes are listed on front page. Click the Getting Started entry if its there. If its not there then click on Courses on the main page. Then select Power Point Curriculum. Curriculum and click on it's entry.Power Point Curriculum Find the entry for Getting Started and click on it to get to this page. My Second Slide In the Home tab,in the Slides group, click on New Slide. A new slide should appear with Click to add title at the top. Replace the words Click to add title with the title of your second slide. The cursor will move to the text area. Type in the three lines of text for your second slide that you wrote down before. Congratulations. You have made a two slide presentation.

Duplicate your slide Duplicate the slide by clicking the down arrow next to New Slides in the Slides group of the Home tab. Then click on Duplicate Selected Slides, so you can have your original back when you have finished experimenting with the it in the next step.

Justify lines Make the first line of text center justified.  Select the first line of text.  In the Paragraph group of the Home tab,click on the center justified icon Make the second line of text right justified.  Select the second line of text.  In the Paragraph group of the Home tab,click on the right justified icon Make the third line (if any) full justified.  Select the third line of text.  In the Paragraph group of the Home tab,click on the full justified icon, and then press enter.

Format text Make the title in Olde English Text  Select the title of the slide by clicking and dragging over it  In the Font group of the Home tab, change the font to some other font, e.g. Old English Text.  Make the font size bigger, e.g. 60 Make the first line of text a different color, say red.  Select the first line of text by clicking and dragging over it.  Click on the drop down arrow next to the Font color icon in the Font group. A set of colors will show up.  Choose a color and click on it, Your text will change to that color. Underline the second line of text.  Select the second line of text by clicking and dragging over it.  Click on the Underline icon in the Font group. Make the third line of text in italics  Select the third line of text by clicking and dragging over it.  Click on the Italics icon in the Font group.

Add a theme to your presentation You might want to review the Lynda.com movie on themes first.review Click on the Design tab Try various theme by moving the cursor over them. Select a theme you like and click on it. All the slides in your presentation should change.

Print out your Presentation Open the File tab Click on Print Click on the Print icon Put your name and date on the printout Turn it into the instructor by next week.
