Why is it such an important area for us? Work we have started with staff and students on values and behaviours Our Community –We have a responsibility to serve our community through training and education of our students –For support our learners in recognising and valuing these differences and prepare them for their futures

Why is it such an important area for us? Every child matters and common inspection framework - the principles of equality and diversity are integral to the delivery of the requirements of both of these frameworks Legislation - the law requires it

Mainstreaming There are three key strands to our mainstreaming strategy –The equal opportunities curriculum –Embedding equality and diversity into policies and procedures –Embedding equality and diversity into the culture

Our Responsibilities We must comply with the legislation and College policies We must demonstrate sensitivity to issues of equality and diversity within our everyday roles We must challenge and confront inappropriate language and behaviour by students, work placement providers, outside contractors or colleagues………………..
