C119.4 Subcommittee On Connectors for Use Between Aluminum-to-Aluminum, and Aluminum-to-Copper Conductors Designed for Normal Operation at or Below 93 o C and Copper-to- Copper Conductors Designed for Normal Operation at or Below 100 o C – Just published as C – Optional Salt Spray and Fault Duty Tests are included in this revision Ongoing work for the next revision: – A Task Force is working on how to incorporate Shunting or Repair Devices into the C119 standards
C119.5 Subcommittee On Insulation Piercing Connector Systems, Rated 600 Volts or Less (Low-Voltage Aerial Bundled Cables and Insulated and Non-Insulated Line Wires) – This New Standard was published in 2009 as C Ongoing work for the next revision: Evaluate the possibility of including a salt spray contamination test
C119.6 Subcommittee On Non-sealed Multi-port Connector Systems Rated 600 Volts or Less for Aluminum and Copper Conductors – A Revised Standard will be Published in the 2 nd Quarter of 2011 as C – Enhanced test criteria is included in this revision Ongoing work for the next revision: – Determination of test parameters for Pin Terminals – Evaluate the possibility of including a salt spray contamination test – Evaluate the possibility of including a short circuit test
C119.7 Subcommittee on High Operating Temperature Connector Systems (Above 93 o C) – A New C119.7-XXXX Standard is being developed – Phase 1 of a Joint ANSI C EPRI Project for testing the proposed high temperature test protocol is in progress – Testing of ACSS, ACCR, and ACCC conductor– connector systems to validate the proposed test protocol is approximately 50% complete – Phase 1 of the C119.7 – EPRI test protocol evaluation is scheduled to be completed in 2011 – EPRI is doing additional long duration (1,500 cycle) heat cycle performance testing and scientific evaluation of connector – conductor interface performance at high temperatures – Phase 2 of the C119.7 – EPRI test protocol evaluation is being planned for 2012
C119 Testing Methods and Directives Subcommittee – This Subcommittee has the responsibility of evaluating and recommending improvements for test lab procedures that are common to all of the C119 Standards – The Subcommittee continues to develop a Common Test Requirements Guide Document which will be published as a supplement as applicable to all the C119 Standards
