A measure word (liàngcí 量词 ), also known as a classifier or a count word, is used along with numerals to define the quantity of a given object or objects, or with "this"/"that" to identify specific objects. When do I need a measure word (category 1) in a sentence? 1)When a quantity is involved, for instance, if you use a number in front of a noun. 2)When you want to specify a noun, in other words if you use 这 this, 那 that, 每 every. 3)When the question words 哪 which and 几 how many are used. Where should I place a measure word in a sentence?
