Macro – Regional Strategies The macro-regional strategies, which concern the basic issues of territorial cohesion and are promoted by the European Territorial Cooperation goals, emerge with particular emphasis in the programming period Adriatic-Ionian Macro-RegionBased on the previous experiences (Baltic Sea, Danube region) and with the European Commission encouragement, the Mediterranean countries that participate in the Adriatic-Ionian Macro-Region strongly support the formulation of the specific Strategy
