 Strength – Our main strength is our driving force to learn more and facing new challenges.  Weakness- We have time constraint and as we meet up weekly in classroom, the collaboration may not be appropriate.  Opportunity – Our combined efforts and ideas can be fruitful for the betterment of mankind, technology and business.  Threat – Because of time constraint we may not be able to deliver within deadline.

There are different Platforms of Virtual Learning Environment and there are some controversial issues are also remains about selecting better platform. Popular Virtual learning Platforms are:  Moodle Platform  WebCT Platform  Clarion Platform  Black Book Platform  Google Platform

 The word Moodle was originally an acronym for Modular Object- Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment, which is mostly useful to programmers and education theorists.  Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It has become very popular among educators around the world as a tool for creating online dynamic web sites for their students.  It is a software package for producing Internet-based courses and web sites. It is a global development project designed to support a social constructionist framework of education.  An online learning management system(LMS)designed to create opportunities for rich interaction between teachers and learners.

The focus of the Moodle project is always on giving educators the best tools to manage and promote learning, but there are many ways to use it:  Moodle has features that allow it to scale to very large deployments and hundreds of thousands of students, yet it can also be used for a primary school or an education hobbyist.  Many institutions use it as their platform to conduct fully online courses, while some use it simply to augment face-to-face courses (known as blended learning).  Many of its users love to use the activity modules (such as forums, databases and wikis) to build richly collaborative communities of learning around their subject matter (in the social constructionist tradition), while others prefer to use Moodle as a way to deliver content to students (such as standard SCORM packages) and assess learning using assignments or quizzes.

 Moodle is provided freely as Open Source software (under the GNU Public License).  Moodle is simply a box of tools on a single, robust, easy to use and customisable platform for teachers and learners in virtually any educational setting.  From giants like Open University (UK) with over users to single primary school classes, Moodle can be used to conduct courses fully online or, in most cases, to support face-to-face teaching and learning.

 Different courses  Available in 78 languages  An organization has complete access to the source code and can make changes if needed  Available in Bengali  Increased IT skills - Developing and delivering online learning helps to increase the IT skills of both the staff building the course and the students studying it  Flexibility - Students can study at their own pace and in their own time  Course management feature  Assignment  Chat  Choice  Database  Quiz

Moodle Course Features :-  Store - Files, web page, Folders, DB, Links, Portfolio  Communicate – chat room, forums, messaging, dialogue, calendar  Collaborate – blog, wiki, glossary, forum, workshop, lesson, social network  Evaluate – assignment, grade, quiz, choice, ratings

 Moodle can be installed on any computer that can run PHP, and can support an SQL type database (for example MySQL). It can be run on Windows and Mac operating systems and many flavors of linux (for example Red Hat or Debian GNU).  To work, it needs to be installed on a web server somewhere, either on one of your own computers or one at a web hosting company.  You can run Moodle on  Stand alone single computer  Network server  Have it hosted.

 WebCT or Blackboard Learning System is a proprietary virtual learning Environment. Over 700 “course projects” currently in WebCT. WebCT serves us well, but it isn’t perfect.  Some WebCT criticisms which were apparent include problems using it in multiple tabs or browser windows, heavy reliance on Java for its user experience, usage of too many browser framesets, issues with some features requiring pop-up blockers to be turned-off and problems using standard browser navigation tools (i.e. the Back and Forward commands).  Clarion Handy Tools: Your existing app interface is not utilized. You will need to build the web interface from scratch, one page at a time.
