 The county government of Nakuru recognizes the need to improve sanitation situation in Nakuru County urban and peri urban areas  and planning for the sanitation in up-coming urban areas and rural set-ups.

 Budget-Ksh 210 million in 2013/2014  Water supply- 51%  Sanitation-  NAWASSCO-  NAIVAWASS-  NARUWASCO-

 social pillar  targets that every Kenyan should have access to clean, safe water and improved sanitation by the year 2030 and county government of Nakuru has plan to realize this vision.  Currently we have less than 30% access to portable drinking water and less than 20% sewer sanitation services which is way far below.

 The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, Energy and Water has a management structure that will address environment and sanitation issues.  In the ministry we will have the County Executive, CEC ENREW, the Chief Officer, CO ENREW and two directors; that is the Director of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy And The Director of Water.

 The ministry will retain the three water companies that existed before the incoming of the county government though we will re-organize the service delivery system and performance TOR.  Our envisage management strategy of the three companies is that we will have the County Director of Water in Nakuru County to oversee the quality of service delivery. 
