In this lesson we will learn how to calculate the volume of a right rectangular prism.

In this lesson we will answer the question: How do you calculate the volume of a right rectangular prism?

Connecting to Previous Learning In the last lesson, you worked with cubic units to pack a 3-D figure and measure its volume. In this lesson, you will work on a formula to help you calculate the volume of a right rectangular prism.

Let’s look at some review examples for finding the volume of a solid

A box measures 10 cm. long x 2 cm. wide x 4 cm. high. Its volume is the amount of space inside. By finding the product of the length, width, and height, you will find the number of 1cm cubes that will fit in the box.
