Reminder!! (Being Specific) BE SPECIFIC I like dancing. I have been dancing since childhood.  I like to dance salsa and hip-hop. I’ve been dancing for since I was 6 years old. I worked in a bank  I was a bank teller at ABC Bank for 5 years. I worked retail  From 2011-2013, I worked in retail at 2 different stores.

Reminder!! (Providing Examples) PROVIDE EXAMPLES I think dancing is fun  Dancing is exciting to me. For example, whenever I dance, I feel like I have no worries in the world. It gives me energy. I didn’t enjoy working at the bank  Banking wasn’t enjoyable to me because I had to stand for long hours, so my back hurt a lot. Also, I like talking to different people, but I worked drive through, so I didn’t get to interact with customers that much. I did different things in the store  Even though I sold clothes, I had different duties. For example, I rang up customers on the cash register, but I also organized the displays. That part of my job was really fun.

New Information!! (Mirroring) Mirroring means to repeat the last few words someone said. Use MIRRORING when: You are surprised by something someone said You want someone to explain more You don’t understand something fully

New Information!! (Mirroring) Example 1 - Person A: My friends say I’m a pretty logical person. Person B: Logical? Person A: Well, I like solving problems, and I’m good with numbers. Example 2 - Person A: I got A’s and B’s in all my classes, but I got straight As in my computer classes. Person B: Computer classes? Person A: That’s right. My school offered several classes in computer programming. I took them all.
