2 The Internet allows you to... –Share messages, ideas and files –Talk to friends who live far away –Search for information on many issues –Publish information, make yourself known The Internet is constantly evolving Internet services –Instant messaging – –File-sharing networks –Social networks and blogs –Cell phones with Internet

3 Instant messaging –Lets you communicate with your contacts in real time –You can talk with friends and family far away –You can share photos, pictures, documents, etc. Risks of messaging –Identity theft –Virus infection –Malware infection (spyware, phishing, etc)

4 It is best to be suspicious about strangers or files you didn't ask for.
