Pilot programme Overview An initiative to develop IT programming skills for employment in Wales Aim: To provide unemployed candidates with the practical programming and employability skills to gain employment in the IT sector in Wales. Exciting new initiative developed in a partnership including the Welsh Government working with the National Skills Academy for IT, employers, Jobcentre plus and Careers Wales. 23

Programme Overview Aim is to develop the blend of IT and employability skills required by employers, in order to provide unemployed candidates with the best opportunity for full time employment. Target 30 candidates - including graduates (from IT and non-IT courses) and the short term unemployed commencing mid October. Candidates apply with a statement of commitment to seeking a career in IT. Uses industry standard e-learning solutions delivered as a flexible, facilitated, self paced learning programme.
