1999 Canadian Diabetes Strategy In 1999, to enable Canadians to benefit more fully from the considerable resources and expertise available across the country, the Government of Canada pledged $115 million over five years to the development of a Canadian Diabetes Strategy. Its partners in this national initiative include the provinces and territories, various national health bodies and interest groups, and Aboriginal communities across the country.
