Mimio Training Presented by Amy Ball

Mimio Use with:  Mimio Software Mimio Software  Control any Power Point at your whiteboard  Interactive Websites Interactive Websites  Google Earth  Document Camera Document Camera  The possibilities are endless!

Getting Started  Once it is plugged in and installed, you are ready to go! Make sure you have installed Mimio Studio 6  Calibration – (I normally have to do it at least once a day)  You can now control your whole computer at your whiteboard.

Mimio Studio 6  Mimio Notebook – This is where you will create your lesson within Mimio Studio.  Mimio Toolbar – You will use this to create lessons, and during your lessons at your whiteboard.  Mimio Gallery – This is where you will find images, background, and interactive files. * I have found it is easier to create the lessons at my computer.

Mimio with PowerPoint  Use your Mimio Mouse like a wireless mouse.  Use the pen tool to write on the slide.  Go to Pointer Options  Choose Pen  Insert hyperlinks to other files or websites.hyperlinks  Use the screen clipping tool to copy pages from your PowerPoint to Mimio Notebook to make it interactive.screen clipping  Use with screen annotation to use the Mimio Tools on the Power Point.

Mimio Connect  Mimio Connect - Mimio Connect  Great resource for downloads, ideas, and links to interactive websites.  Make sure you check out the Lessons Plans & Activities tab. Even if they aren’t the level you teach, they can give you good ideas.

Mimio Website Mimio Website – This website shows you the newest products, but the best part is the training. training Download Mimio Quick learn training brochure. Video tutorials You can also take online classes from this website. This site is good, but I use the Mimio Connect website most for lesson plans and ideas.

Advice  Start Slow – I started out using it with Power Point presentations or websites with interactive games.  Go over some “rules” about using the Mimio Mouse before handing it over to the kids.  Don’t feel overwhelmed! The more you use it the more comfortable you will be.
