Khan Academy This is a great resource for Secondary Math and Science Teachers (does have other topics but mostly Math and Science) – Over 4,000 videos Ability to set up customized lessons based on individual needs Ability to track student progress

Learning Network – NY Times Resource for Middle and High School teachers trying to address current events. Current New York Times articles are presented in an easy to understand format that includes definitions of key vocabulary and maps of areas discussed in the articles. Themed units are also included.

Oneword Great for Middle and High School English Teachers. This site is great for teaching students to overcome writers-block. This site provides one word and requires the student to write about it for 60 seconds. Could be used as a bell ringer

Commoncraft Great for High School Teachers – Commoncraft is a collection of videos that use paper cut- outs to explain what could be confusing subjects. Many videos are offered for free however some do cost

TodaysMeet Great resource for the classroom or for professional development – This is a free chat service that allows you to back-channel discussion with students or peers during a presentation. Great for Staff Meetings Can use during a film to ask questions and post comments about what they are watching Very clean design with no advertisements

FEFE – Economics Resources This is a must have website for all Personal Finance or Economics teachers. This site has an endless library of interactive lessons that can be used to teach any topic you wish to cover.

Twitter Social Networking does have a place in education. Twitter is a great classroom resource as well as a Professional Development tool. Keep students and parents informed Follow others to stay on top of the latest trends in education Require students to tweet over something being covered in class

Socrative Valuable tool for all classrooms. This is a free online student response website that can be used from a computer or a cell phone. Great for assessing whether or not the students are grasping a particular concept. This is a must for all teachers.

Edmodo Free online learning management system for Middle and High School teachers. Teachers can post assignments, daily objectives, tests, quizzes, videos, etc… for students to view. This is also a great way for parents to see what is being covered in class.
