In Kansas, on average 870 special education professionals leave special education each year. Kansas districts lose between 4 and 25% of their special education staff each year. This revolving door of teachers leaves students behind.

Topics based on survey of special education directors, mentees and mentors. Kansas required 3 observations during year 2. Observations are not evaluative in nature.

Last year it was much harder to get to know the mentees and really know how they were teaching. Being able to FaceTime with them and see lessons with the video observations has a made a huge difference.”
