CREATE Project Locations
CREATE Englewood Flyover A rail-rail bridge flyover will be constructed for the north-south Metra Rock Island line over the east-west NS-AMTRAK line. Eliminates significant delays between Metra, AMTRAK & NS trains which average 78, 14 and 46 trains per day, respectively. 30 mph speed restriction through Englewood Interlocking currently for NS & AMTRAK – planned increase to 50 mph. Passenger train volumes at Englewood could increase 50% within a few years. More efficient train operations for nearby 47 th and 63 rd Street Intermodal Terminals.
