Core 40 Diploma English –8 credits Math –6 credits: 2 credits Algebra I 2 credits Geometry 2 credits Algebra II (or a third year if student received Algebra I credit in 8 th grade) Science –6 credits: 2 credits Biology 2 credits from chemistry/physics/or integrated chemistry & physics (ICP) 2 credits elective science Social Studies –6 credits: Geography OR World History (AP); 2 cr. U.S. History; 1 cr. Government, 1 cr. Economics 40 credits Physical Education (PE) - 2 credits Health - 1 credit Electives - 10 credits Preparing for College/Careers (PCC) - 1 credit

ACADEMIC HONORS DIPLOMA- TOTAL OF 47 CREDITS Core 40 requirements PLUS –2 additional math credits –6 credits of World Language in one language OR 4 credits each in 2 different languages –2 credits in Fine Arts such as music or art ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: –Two Advanced Placement courses and exams –6 college credits or one AP course and 3 college credits –SAT score of 1750 on combined math, verbal and writing or 26 ACT composite AND: –No grade lower than a C- in required areas –3.00 GPA by the end of the senior year.

Physical Education Credits Three options: 1. Student does not participate in any FCHS sport or activity student takes 2 semesters of PE 2. Student participates in 1 FCHS sport or activity student may opt out of 1 sem. of PE and take another course that semester (will still need 1 sem. of PE or freshmen weights) Student may take 2 semesters of freshmen weights Student may take 2 semesters of PE

Physical Education Credits Options continued… 3. Student participates in 2 FCHS sports and/or activities student may opt out of 2 semesters of PE and choose another elective each semester (must meet all opt out criteria to earn credit) student may take freshmen weights both semesters student may take PE both semesters

Earning PE credit through the opt out option For each semester a student opts out of PE, he/she must still demonstrate PE standards to earn credit. This is done by completing the following: –Fitness calendar/journal –Midterm and end term fitness checks (mile run, push ups for 1 minute, and sit ups for 1 minute) –Written test (multiple choice, study guides provided) –Complete sport/activity season
