Contrast in 1 Cor.13:8-12 is between ‘now’ and ‘then’ Paul is telling them the gifts were going but some things were going to stay.

1 Corinthians 13:13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Contrast in 1 Cor.13 is between ‘now’ and ‘then’ Paul is telling them the gifts were going but some things were going to stay. The gifts were going, but faith, hope, and love were going to “abide.” Obviously, the 2nd coming was NOT under discussion!
