GROUP DISCUSSION Look at the pictures and answer the questions: What is the relationship between people in each picture? What are they celebrating?

to blow out (v): to put out the flame by blowing. Eg: My brother was very excited when he blew out the candles.

adult (n): a fully grown person (a): fully grown or developed Eg: Why can’t you act like a real adult, daddy?  Synonym: grown – up (v), (a)  adulthood (n) : the state of being an adult

to joke (v): (with sb) (about sth) to say sth to make people laugh, to tell a funny story. Eg: She was laughing and joking with the children.  joke (n): sth that you say or do to make people laugh.  joker (n) a person who likes making jokes.

anniversary (n): a date that is an exact number of years after the date of an special event. Eg: Ann and Jake are going to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

 silver anniversary : the 25th wedding anniversary  silver anniversary : the 25th wedding anniversary.  golden anniversary: the 5oth wedding anniversary.

milestone (n): a very important stage/ event in the development of sth.  Synonym: landmark

Eg: The graduation day is really a milestone of my life.

lasting (a): continuing to exist Eg: I formed some lasting friendships at my high school. lastingly (adv) long – lasting (a) Lasting friendship, okay?
