Prozac By: Michelle Krieger

A Little History About the Drug they Call Prozac Dec 29, Prozac was allowed on the US market. Sep In September 1989, a worker at a printing plant opened fire with an assault rifle, shooting 20 coworkers before killing himself. When it was revealed that the worker had been taking Prozac, the surviving victims and the families of the dead filed suit against the manufacturer of the drug. March 26, 1990, Newsweek sports the picture of a huge Prozac capsule on the cover - a kind of "pill of the year" award. More than 400,000 new prescriptions for Prozac are being written each month in the United States. Meanwhile, a flood of lawsuits is pending against the manufacturer, Eli Lilly.
