FUNCTIONS OF THE FORUM Meet with business people, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs. Filter through ideas and people. Clustering existing enterprises into Associations. Conducting Rapid Market Assessments (RMA) to raise awareness to new business opportunities.

FORUM Clinics set up at District level. Engage with entrepreneurs and businesses in their local communities. Undertake RMAs:  Awareness and capacity building of the BDS providers.  Marketing information

ASSOCIATION BUILDING Little known at this stage about the number of associations linked to the Kampala sanitation sector. Private septic tank emptiers association Priority to cluster existing companies at forum level to leverage additional support.

BRAND

IMPORTANCE OF THE BRAND The BDS will adopt the brand and add a new dimension to their company. The Entrepreneurs/Existing business will buy into the brand at Forum level. The Brand will run through the strategy and be recognized as good practice, adding credibility, even to loan applications. The branded products and services purchased by the consumer will be recognized as value for money and represent ‘quality’. Interactive digital media(website) global communication platform presently being developed in Kampala.

VOUCHER SCHEME The voucher is a document awarded to selected existing businesses by the Investment Committee and entitles them to buy selected Business Support Services. It is expected that the business will contribute to a ‘top up’ or a ‘buy one service and’ get one free’ voucher scheme. This will also show a commitment on behalf of the entrepreneur and get an understanding of how they feel about paying for a BDS.
