FIELD TRIALS WITH CITROCITE GRANJA AVICOLA DO LITORAL CATARINENSE - BRASIL February/March during the Brazilian Summer CITROCITE

OBJECTIVE TO VERIFY THROUGH TRIALS THE PROPHYLACTIC PROPERTIES OF CITROCITE IN CONFINED BROILERS. BASIC INDICATIONS OF THE TRIAL TIME PERIOD: FEBRUARY/MARCH DURING THE BRAZILIAN SUMMER LOCATION: GRANJA AVICOLA DO LITORAL CATARINENSE - BRASIL PERIMETER OF TRIALS z STANDARD FEED FORMULATION z PERMANENT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (VETERINARY AND NUTRITIONAL) z CONTROL GROUP FEED MEDICATED WITH CONVENTIONAL GROWTH PROMOTERS z CITROCITE WAS ADDED TO THE FEED TO BE TESTED IN THE DOSAGE OF 300G/TONNE OF FEED z LENGTH OF TRIAL 45 DAYS z GEOGRAPHIC AREA WAS CONTAMINATED WITH PATHOGENIC FUNGI ESPECIALLY ASPERGILLUS- FLAVUM z EACH GROUP HAD 360 BIRDS AND WAS SUBDIVIDED INTO PENS OF 120 BIRDS EACH PRODUCTIVITY INDEX - PI PI = AWG x V FC x 10 AWG = AVERAGE DAILY WEIGHT GAIN (grams) V = VIABILITY (%) - MORTALITY COMPLEMENT FC = FEED CONVERSION

CITROCITE CONCLUSION zTHE PRODUCTIVITY INDEX OF THE BIRDS FED WITH CITROCITE WAS 18% HIGHER THAN THE CONTROLLED BIRDS zTHE BIRDS FED WITH CITROCITE GREW 6.97% FASTER THAN THE CONTROL BIRDS zTHE FEED CONVERSION OF THE BIRDS FED WITH CITROCITE WAS 6.98% FASTER THAN THE CONTROLLED BIRDS zCITROCITE SHOWS EXCELLENT PROPHYLACTIC CHARACTERISTICS IN REGIONS WITH ASPERGILLUS- FLAVUM FUNGI.
