Central Access Television

C.A.T. – For students. By students.  Cable access for students and the community with Charter Cable; channel 14  A place for all student created content, including class work and beyond  On-demand catalog of student work via YouTube and, in the near future, on our own developed website

Our work thus far…  Central Beat: Independent, inside look at local musicians  Central Focus: COM 452, interviews of important campus figures  Central Spotlight: COM 322, news show about community happenings  EllensBurg eXtreme: COM 452, 30min sketch comedy show  NewsWatch: COM 442 & 452, local weekly live newscast  And then some…

Our goal  To become the school’s go to production crew for clubs, events, etc.  To give film students opportunity to create what they desire and share with their peers  To give non-film students a chance to have their story heard and to hear others

Equipment  Cameras, boom mics and lights… oh my!  Cinematography is important, but so is image quality  Audio will make or break any production  Live streaming boxes are key to maintain relevance (BOD, S&A, possibly sporting events)  Expenses made now will pay for themselves in the future

Upkeep  Corporate projects need to get done, but aren’t creatively satisfying  Outside of class, students need incentives for non-creative work  Website building and maintenance fees add up

Self-sustaining Organization & Rate Card  Single/Two Man Crew  $10/hour/crewmen  $15 editing fee  Event Shooting  Three camera min.  $50/hour/crewmen  $20 editing fee  Project Shoots  Rates/production costs discussed in contract negotiations  Starting at $150; varies depending on finished minutes, scope and editing time
