Memphis Market Memphis tops list of fattest cities Memphis is known for mouth-watering barbecue but that reputation is coming at the expense of the city's waistline. Newsweek has dubbedNewsweek has dubbed Memphis as the fattest city in the nation. Nearly 30 percent — 29.7 percent to be precise — of Memphis adults are obese while 12.4 percent of the population has diabetes. About half, 51.7 percent, of Memphians exercise regularly, and 56.7 percent of the city's populations eats produce regularly, according to the report. Obesity is a nationwide epidemic, with two thirds of adults and one third of children and adolescents overweight or obese, according to Newsweek. The publication used Gallup's Well-Being Index to determine its ranking.

Ischemic Tissue Collaborative Mission To facilitate the care and quality for the early recognition of symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of time sensitive illnesses such as but not limited to Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) and Cerebral Vascular Accidents (CVA). Improve and enhance the relationship between EMS and MAH to collaborate on processes, policies, education, and quality metrics.

Ischemic Tissue Collaborative Goals Integrate ED protocols with EMS to improve patient outcomes Improve community awareness in recognizing signs and symptoms of time sensitive illnesses and to seek treatment, with emphasis of encouraging patient’s use of the 911 system Reduce time of onset of signs and symptoms to appropriate medical treatment Recognize and seek opportunities to improve and integrate processes and protocols for our patients Share quality metrics and case reviews monthly Enhance relationships between Memphis Area Hospitals and EMS at point of entry into the healthcare system Zero Emergency Department diversion

Ischemic Tissue Collaborative Education is provided to Emergency Service providers by area Hospitals. Proven to improve relationships between Hospital Emergency Departments and Emergency Service providers. Education credits are provided free of charge.
