Summary & Acknowledgement

Summary Preliminary results Accession as a helpful abstraction for managing touchable real world entities ('samples') (< more then one sample per accession is stored, samples can derive from different maintenance methods) Customers of a gene bank are not interested in a special representation of an accession but in specific traits of all representatives (< accessions as carriers of passport and characterisation information) Helmut Knüpffer & Jörn Vorwald: Germplasm accessions as an abstract concept – Summary & Acknowledgement

Acknowledgement We thank Theo van Hintum (CGIAR) as the 'trigger' of this discussion Steffen Flemming and Stephan Weise (IPK) for helpful discussions Helmut Knüpffer & Jörn Vorwald: Germplasm accessions as an abstract concept – Summary & Acknowledgement
