Setting The story mostly take place at Westchester country day middle school. Where Nikki’s father was working as a bug exterminator and Nikki was embarrassed that her classmates would find out that she was a scholarship student. After school she would spend most of her time at home which was pretty small with her mother and her crazy little sister named Brianna Maxwell.

Characters Like in almost each of Rachel Renee Russell's books called Dork Diaries there is a good person and a bad person. There are two main characters in this story. In this case Mackenzie is the bad person and Nicky is the good person.

Conflict Nikki is a 8 th grader student who enter Westchester middle Day school. She is there on a scholarship because her father works there as a bug exterminator. Nikki has a problem with a popular girl named Mackenzie, who is always pulling pranks on her. There is a talent show at the school where Nikki and her friends are planning a performance but Mackenzie is planning to sabotage Nikki's performance by asking Nikki’s friends to dance with her.

Plot There is bug problem in the school. Nikki is immensely concern if Dad is called in, His truck has a giant roach on it and his uniform has their last name. The embarrassment will be too much for Nikki. Nikki discovers that Mackenzie has been releasing bugs in the school building to bring Nikki's secret to light.

Event Nikki’s and her friends where doing a dance in the talent show and Mackenzie tried to ruin the show but she couldn’t. Nikki and her friends did a good show and Nikki was able to keep her scholarship.

Rate I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because this book is a fantastic and funny story. This book inspired me to think. “Only you can be you; only I can be me.” You always want to be what your not, but you can be happy with what you got. Your perfect the way you are.
