OUR FUTURE VISION + STRATEGY

STRATEGY STATEMENT BY 2013, TO BUILD THE SUSTAINABILITY AND AUTHENTICITY OF THE LASALLIAN MISSION IN ANZPNG THROUGH THE DELIVERY OF A COMPREHENSIVE, SEQUENTIAL, SIX LEVEL SERIES OF ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE PROGAMS AND RESOURCES.

AIMS OF LES FORMATION 1. Formation for the Lasallian mission: definition and purpose of formation. Lasallian formation is the professional, personal and spiritual training and development in alignment with Lasallian values and practices. It is a process which helps people to internalise the elements of what it is to be “Lasallian”. It involves accompanying people in this process of discovery. The aim of all our Lasallian formation is to inspire a passion for, and strengthen commitment to, the mission of providing a human and Christian education for young people, especially those most in need.

AIMS OF LES FORMATION 2. Familiarisation with the Lasallian story and heritage- desired outcomes. The shared Lasallian charism provides us with a common understanding, and a common framework that articulates who we are, what our Mission is, and the implications of this framework for how we operate, as individuals and organizations. This shared ethos ideally shapes all relationships, policies and practices within our workplaces. Our heritage provides us with a rich resource for study, through the writings of De La Salle and associated historical documents. Such study provides us with: a sound academic background and understanding a rekindling of the vision of the ideals and values that make our works Lasallian a practical and relevant frame of reference

AIMS OF LES FORMATION 3. Development of professional competence in the workplace Through the combination of personal connections and the appropriation of a common mission, LES formation programs are able to challenge participants to gain fresh insights and develop skills and practical ideas to take back to their workplaces. Thus, the whole workplace community can benefit, and continue to seek improvement as authentically Lasallian ministries.

LES: OUR VALUES

OUR STAKEHOLDERS Visitor and the District Council LARC and the Mission Council Decision makers (Principals, CEOs) Influencers (Lasallian Facilitators, RECs, managers & non CEO/ Principal leaders) Narooma graduates Participants Lasallian Facilitators currently provide the “supply chain”.

OUR SCOPE: WHAT WE DO NOT OFFER LES will no longer run Level One programs as of 2010 (available online- to be locally run) LES will focus on developing and running Levels 3-6 programs (“Narooma style”, on site and online) LES will encourage PNG and NZ nationals to run programs from Levels One to Three, and will focus on “Train the Trainers” in these countries. LES will no longer provide merchandise and/or books. LES will no longer edit and print two editions of Touching Hearts magazine per year.

OUR SCOPE: PRIORITIES FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS 1. Develop the Lasallian Learning Site for the online housing and delivery of formation programs and resources (local and international); 2. Build sustainability and capacity by identifying and training a team of Lasallian Formators. Train decision makers in key governance roles in authentic Lasallian values and practices through the delivery of an online formation program for Board members.
