Objectives Focus is on knowledge transfer between academia and industry Support for creation, development and reinforcement and execution of strategic partnerships, aimed at knowledge sharing and inter-sector mobility, based on targeted human resources interaction Open to all disciplines – from Engineering to Social Sciences and Humanities Bottom-up – no pre-defined topics or priority areas
Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) Minimum configuration is a university and company (one in Ireland, one abroad) Funds staff exchange of –early stage (PhD) –experienced researchers (Postdocs) –Technical –Research managerial Also funds hiring of additional staff (experienced researchers)
Foster co-operation between non-commercial research organisations & commercial enterprises based on joint research projects. Stimulate long-term collaboration between sectors through secondment of researchers between the public & private research domains. Diverse career possibilities & research experience for researchers, knowledge sharing/cultural exchange. IAPP Objectives

Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP) Slow start in 2007… not a single successful proposal with Irish participation. Increased interest (and success!!) in out of 9 Irish proposals funded. Only two of the seven universities involved in IAPPs.
