notebooks –you do not have to have them in placement –each Monday turn in (in envelope provided) the notebook material from the previous week tab each section with a post-it and put in the order specified in placement syllabus 1 follow syllabus instructions on word-processing –material will be returned Friday at lab (class, segment 2) –put into notebooks immediately –notebooks will be checked at to-be-announced intervals across the semester fall “mini-break” –week of 10/13 (first week of segment 2)—no readings or assignments in 321, music, and art.

placement –follow building dress code (skin may be in, but not in placements) –concerns: no matter how small—talk to supervisor right away –absences: phone call to co-op and supervisor; to supervisor and me asap –lates: apologize to co-op; supervisor and me that day –by end of second week, take a walk around the school neighborhood. get a sense of where the school is located look for possibilities for your exploration –take notes—incorporate into Questions to Explore

short intro letters for teachers & parents (put both letters in notebook under artifacts) teachers: –where you’re from, family etc –experience with kids –jobs you’ve had –why you want to teach, what you want to learn this semester parents –probably shorter than letter to teacher, but cheerful and informative –check with coop to see if newsletter sent home and if you can include a brief introduction.
