Rules & Expectations Be bucket fillers by being: Safe, Respectful and Responsible!

Bucket Fillers vs. Bucket Dippers Every day students will start on “Ready to learn” If a student is caught working extra hard to be a bucket filler, he/she will get the chance to clip up on our clip chart. Good choices Great choices OUTSTANDING If a student is caught being a bucket dipper (not following classroom rules) he/she will have to clip down. Warning Consequence (Teachers choice at recess or silent lunch) Parent contact/office Each day in the communication folder your child's ending color will be marked. Individual Clip Chart

This child has tried hard all week! They will have the opportunity to visit the class store and shop for a coupon on Friday. This child has had some difficulty with class rules this week, a note home or conference may be called depending on certain situations. This child would not be able to go coupon shopping. 

Classroom Bucket Students will work as a class to fill our class bucket: Once the bucket is full of ‘ warm fuzzies’, a sparkle stick will be chosen. Each sparkle stick has a reward on it. Class reward days will be on Fridays! You will be notified of our fuzzy Friday once we have earned it! Rewards include: Candy day (candy treat) Extra recess Movie day Class choice Choose your seat day Bring a ‘stuffed’ friend day Special treat day Game day Show & Tell day

Daily Procedures Communication Folder- This folder will come to school and home each day. This folder is where you would find notes, homework, behavior logs, lunch menus, etc. Thursday Folder- Each Thursday your child will bring home their Thursday folder (maroon folder). This is where you will find your child’s work for your review. Please return all items on the “Return to School” side in the folder. Please keep the items on the “Keep at Home” side. Snack- Please pack a healthy snack in a separate bag from your child's lunch, with his/her name on it, every day. Uniforms- Please be sure your child is in full uniform everyday. If your child is not in compliance with our uniform policy, we will send home a notice. If it is not corrected, the office will be notified. As much as we love them, no sparkly shoes ladies.

Daily Procedures Money- Please send exact amount (if 4.99 don’t send 5.00), in an envelope with your child’s name, teacher’s name, $ amount and what it is for. You will receive a receipt unless it is $5.00 or under. Lunches- We can not microwave or refrigerate student lunches for safety reasons. If your child will be ordering lunches, please fill out the monthly lunch calendar at the beginning of each month. This is how we will order your child his/her lunch. If you ever need to access the lunch menu, you can find it on the TJCA website. Transportation changes- Please send a note in your child's communication folder. I cannot guarantee that I will get a last minute about transportation changes. If it is last minute you must call Mrs. Caldwell in the office, she will notify us. Field Trips- If you will be volunteering for field trips/activities, please note that you will be in charge of supervising your child and at least one other child during activities. Unfortunately, siblings are not able to accompany us on any field trips.

What are “Smart” beads/coins During & after domain read alouds, I will ask students a series of content questions, if a student correctly answers a ‘smart bead’ question, they get to wear a ‘smartie necklace’ ALL day. At the end of the day they turn in necklaces for a card to bring home. The second half of the year (after Christmas) students will be working towards earning smart coins, which they will collect and cash in at our class store.
