The First World War…

The Seven Year’s War

Thesis The connections between regional issues and European struggles for global power in the mid-eighteenth century are that the British dominated the Indian Ocean basin, North America, and the Caribbean. Little was gained or lost in Europe.

Groups Indian Ocean Basin (British vs. French/Spanish) - 1,8 N. America (British vs. French/Natives) – 2,7 Europe (Prussia (British) vs. Austria (French)) – 3,4 Carribbean (British vs. French/Spanish) – 5,6,9

POV Doc 1 – Since the document is a report to the company, Clive wants to report what the victory costs Doc 2 – Since the Council is convened by the French, Kisensik wants to convey to the audience their common cause to defeat the British. Doc 7 – Pontiac’s tone sounds desperate since their allies, the French, have just suffered a major defeat. Pontiac is trying to unite everyone together in his speech.
