ACM Today Members (September 30, 2010) –95,277 worldwide –11,000 new “Local Members” Publications –50 periodicals in computing and computer science (80 with SIG Newsletters) –Significant Digital Library and bibliographic database for computing –DL is at ~3,500 institutions worldwide 36 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) –~170 sponsored/co-sponsored conferences, symposia, workshops - annually Chapters –520 student chapters worldwide –140 professional chapters Initiatives –Image and health of the field –Being international –Revamping CACM Operations –Volunteers Council (16 members) Regional Councils (India, China, Europe) USACM Council ACM-W Council Four operating boards (Publications, SIGs, Education, Profession) Over 100 committees (including each SIG ’ s governing Executive Committee) –Headquarters New York Full-time staff: 72

International Regional Councils for –ACM Europe –ACM India –ACM China Councils –Distinguished computer scientists from the region –Help set the ACM agenda for the region Goals for this year –Build the existing Councils and regional activities further –Develop a strategy for Latin America

International China –Signed a MOU with CCF (Chinese Computer Federation) Collaboration on CNCC Joint membership between CCF and ACM New publication to publish best papers from Chinese research conferences in English CACM section in CCCF Europe –Participated in ICT2010 in Brussels (booth and a panel) –Exploring expanded DSP for Europe –Focus: chapters and membership –Hoping to engage with the Royal Society on a major study of pre-college CS education issues in the UK India –Good success to date (chapters up 100%; membership up 50%) –Major ACM India meeting in January –Focus: Education, chapters, membership
