Welcome to CHATTERTON MEDIA CENTER We’re glad you’re here! Mrs. Falconer, Librarian Mrs. Krueger, Library Clerk

Media Center Rules 1. Do not cut through the Media Center between classes. 2. You must have a pass or signed agenda book to use the Media Center without a teacher 3. You must sign in and out unless you are with your teacher 4. Drop off books inside Media Center at the Book Slot

Circulation 1. Books and Magazines – 2 weeks – 3 item limit 2. Textbooks and Encyclopedias– Overnight – sign out after school 3. You may not check out books if you have fines or overdue books 4. You may not sign out books for other students 5. Rewards are affected by your fines!!!

Overdue Book Fines 1. 5¢- per day Books and Magazines 2. 25¢- per day Textbooks, Reference Books and Encyclopedias 3. LOST BOOKS – Replacement cost 4. Lost Magazines – $6.00 per issue 5. Damaged Magazine – Replacement cost + $ Refund policy

Computer Rules 1.Do not use Lab computers without a teacher present 2.Keep Computer desks and areas clean 2.NO GUM, FOOD, or DRINKS near the computers 3. Ask permission to PRINT School related printing only 4.NO CHAT ROOMS, , NO Downloading of games, 5.No MySpace or other social networking sites 5. LOG OFF when finished 6. Finding a book in Destiny  “Destiny” is our list of books on the computer, a catalog of what we own  Search by keyword, subject, author, or title  Watch your spelling!  Ask for help any time!

The Destiny record can show you:  1. Call number---where book is in the library  2. Short description  3. Number of pages  4. Where and when it was published  5. If a copy is available to check out

Destiny is online!!  You can access Destiny from any computer, even at home. It is available on the Internet on the Fitzgerald Public Schools website: Go to Schools, Chatterton, Media Center, and then CMS Library Catalog.
