Definition Camtasia is Tech Smith product that allows people to record onscreen activity, turn it into a polished video, and share it with the world.

History Tech Smith, who makes Camtasia, was founded in SnagIt was its first success in 1999 even though it was ahead of its time. SnagIt’s screen capture ability was the basis for Camtasia being created in Camstasia is evolving and is now on version 6.

Recording Captures video of anything on your screen Compresses the file without compromising quality Easy to use tool bar that puts all options in one spot Allows for narration at a later time Easily converts PowerPoint to video Webcams can be used to capture the presenter and is automatically synced with the screen recording Creates podcasts Gives the ability to draw on the screen to illustrate or make a point

Editing Allows the a preview of the final result before it’s published Gives us the ability to cut, splice, and move video or audio Zooms in and out automatically or manually The screen can move vertically or horizontally and can even be tilted.
