Problem  People starting a new business are hesitant to register their business by themselves. They are ready to take help of the intermediary rather than understanding the process and doing it by self. This has developed a negative impact and reputation on the service provided by the Office of the Company Registrar (OCR), which is there to provide service to public. Is there any way where the service delivery of OCR could be improved and its reputation be reinstated?

Office of Company Registrar (OCR)  The major tasks of OCR are  Fast, efficient and effective service to new company registration  Monitoring a company through various activities and documents  Provide information and documents about company to the desired  Provide various services overcoming the new challenges related to the company administration  Failure of the automation project supported by Asian Development Bank  Reputation of OCR was deteriorating

 Advisory service provided by International Finance Corporation (IFC)  A task force comprising of lawyer, administrator and technical expert was formed in OCR  Protest from the intermediary with fear of loosing business by information hiding  Policy makers has not looked upon the strength of ICT to support the core business of organization i.e., management and development
